No red tape for the seller in the US. I sold my rolling chassis for $30,000 and provided the buyer from Canada, with a slip of paper noting the selling price and date when he picked it up, that's it. I had him wire the money in my account prior to pick up. He may have to account for the money to customs etc. but no issues on our part if you have them pick it up. If you are going to deliver it in Canada and you are a US citizen, then you deserve red tape if you agreed to deliver to canada to sell it. That would be a bit tougher I am sure.

you might have to send all documents to the entry point US side where the car is going to go through on the canadian side. ahead of time also the US side 72 hours. your name what car, serial number ect. and a bill of sale so the tax man on the canadian side can have his cut. but talk it over with the buyer first before giving or sending out paper work. thx

Sold my car recently to a fellow in Quebec Canada
Ask the buyer to bring us currency.
He had to travel to 4 local banks up there to find enough exchange money.
We bought one of those marking pens and checked each bill
Everything went smoothly
