Default Pulling with Cummins 190hp pusher.

I am looking to buy an older 1992-1994 m/h with a cummins pusher and would like to talk to somebody who has used this type set up to pull a trailer. I have talked to a couple of guys but they are using newer 275 and 300hp eninges. Would eventually be pulling a 24' trailer across the windy plains of the midwest with rolling hills and wondering if this set up would have enough power and what kind of real world mpg these things get. EVERYBODY that is selling them is getting great milage and tons of power but would like to talk to somebody with real world experience that is not trying to sell me anything.
Thanks in advance.

Don't know how much money you're talking about, but I had a friend that had one and I have a big block cummins 8.3 315 horse and it pulls a lot better.

Default 5.9 CUMMINS

It is easy and cheap to get 300 or more hp out of this motor. All you need to do is put marine injectors and change the plate in the pump so the rack can put more more fuel to them. Same turbo same air cleaner and it will be fun to drive. It should get 8-10 mpg. I have done done many of these. An 8.3 can also be turned up easy.

Has anybody used the banks kit for a m/h application, how hard is it to install? Banks says its easy but then told me that the average install time is 15-16hrs.
Thanks Ryan

I had a 1997 dodge with a 5spd and my parents had a 1996 auto and they were great..the 5spd pulled much better but the auto was still damn good. Just watch out for the autos if they have a lot of miles b/c that is the week link.
