I agree that a dart block is the way to go. I used a 502 gm block with a 4.25 stroke and 4.530 bore to make a 548. It was 868hp and the block help up fine.

JMO - Max reccomended on truck block is 4.25 with steel rods at 2.10 journal (SBC size).
