2006 MAZDA MX-5 TRACK CAR
VIN: JM1NC25FX60106664
102,679 MILES
Offered here is a well sorted 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata track car which is plated and can be driven on the street. A significant amount of money has been spent to fully modify this vehicle and the result is a very competitive track car. It has been driven numerous times at Waterford Hills Raceway and other Midwest tracks, and frequently outperforms more expensive, higher horsepower racers.
It is powered by a significantly modified Ford 2.5L Duratec engine from a Ford Fusion with only 3,000 miles when installed. Autocore, in Waterford, MI went through the entire engine and installed all the modifications which include Brian Crower stage 2 cams, Fab 9 performance valve springs with a titanium retainer kit, MLS head gasket and dedicated engine oil cooler. A new OEM clutch with Ford XT-M5-QS transmission fluid as well as an open differential with Redline 75W90 gear oil complete the driveline.
The suspension was deemed too soft for track use so Meister R Zeta race coilovers were installed. Corner balancing equipment (four corner scales) are included to ensure that the new owner can redo the suspension balance to his/her specifications.
Regarding the chassis, Autocore built a welded full roll cage that complies with SCCA and NASA requirements. Sparco Sprint seats are mounted to the floor and include 6 point Sparco harnesses. The airbag has been disconnected on the driver’s side and removed from the passenger side to comply with the 6 point harness and HANS device. Two sets of factory wheels with Toyo 888R tires are included.
Brakes: new SS braided lines, all 4 OEM caliper replaced within the last 3K miles, and a Powerstop Track Day Spec brake kit (rotors and pads kit) added.
