2003 Ford Mustang GT fully caged race/track car. I bought it in December 2007 with about 34k miles, and it now has 37k miles.
I drove it for several seasons in NASA HPDE 1-2-3-4 and TTD/TT5 competition, where it was reasonably fast (I’m a mediocre driver), a podium contender every weekend, and stone reliable.
As it sits, it is a 500 point car for ChampCar use (VPI 450 + modifications 50). So, no lap penalties.
The driveline is bone stock, from the air filter to the exhaust tips, and everything in between. It still has the OEM catalytic converters and other emissions items.
While the interior is fully caged and unnecessary items have been thoughtfully removed, all street-required items like windshield wipers, head/tail lights, high beams, brake lights, parking lights, turn signals, hazard lights, reverse lights, and all OEM glass are still in place and fully functional. The power windows, power locks, trunk unlock button, and manual key locks still work. OEM interior fuse panel has been relocated for easy access, and the OEM wiring is unchanged. I still have the owner’s manual and zipper case. I have the title and I kept tags and insurance on it for several years for easily getting to the dyno, alignment shop, and car shows and you can do the same.
The hood, roof, and trunk paint areas are not pretty (mostly thanks to a cheap car cover), but the car is solid and straight. It has not been crashed, hit, bumped, rubbed, or had any body or chassis parts repaired.
See photos for further itemized lists of features and modifications.
Car will come with the as-shown set of OEM 1998 Cobra 17x8 wheels with expired “driveway tires” and 1 set of bare OEM Ford 2003 Cobra 17x9 wheels, along with various spare parts (front hubs, front rotors, rear Carbotech XP8 pads, rear springs, etc.).
