1998 Sports Racer / A-Mac Body / Yamaha R1 Engine
I bought this car about 6 months ago out of Michigan, the owner had purchased it from an estate sale and had plans to figure it out and use it for track days but never did for close to 5 years. The owner was told it at sat for close to 10 years from the owner that passed away with it ending up in an estate sale.
I like projects and sorting things out so we drove 1000 miles and picked it up. We got it all sorted it out and I ran a couple track days with it. Its a ton of fun, oversized go cart basically. I currently race a Miata so I dont have time for two race cars, but as mentioned I couldn't pass this up a project. The car came with a blown head gasket, that has been replaced and now it runs great.
I did a bunch of research on line and nobody can figure out what the chassis is. It apparently is a one off design but whoever designed it and built it was pretty talented. Many people felt that the body is an A-Mac.
We are ballparking the year at 1998 based at some race photos I found on line from the early 2000's. The engine is a 2002 based on the serial number.

The estate could not locate a log book. The car isnt going to be competitive anymore in the new SCCA rules, but it is perfect for vintage racing and track days. Had we raced it I was going to go with vintage and they would have issues a new log book.
