Car name is Berserk Dragster. We runs the N.E.T.O. Nostalgia racing club circuit at North Eastern 1/4 mile tracks. Berserk has many fans at the track and is also a car show favorite.
Chassis is a 210" WB Chromoly hardtail built in 1976 by Mike Troxel and Perry Black . Very light weight car. 1500 lbs with driver and a tank of fuel. I have many history photos, a log book, and all the time slips and many in-car run play back vids. Chassis builder Mike Troxel (Motor Sports Hall-of-famer) dominated Division 5 first in Comp then TAD with this car and a blown Buick SBC. And yes, (Melanie, NHRA All time top 10 female) is Mike's daughter.
Front end - Chromed dropped axle. Fabricated chromed 8-3/4 Chrysler rear was from a Tony Nancy T/F dragster. Strange spool and axles. 4.30 gears by Richmond. 6 pt. cage update by Neil-Parks. Cockpit fits medium size driver. I am 6 ft tall and 165 lb.
Tires - About 25 runs on Mickey Thompson Drag Radials on Weld wheels (needs no tubes, no screws).
Engine - 350 Chevy block bored 60 over. (360") Hard Block filled and O-ringed. Block has a weld repair in the valley.
Scat forged Super-light crankshaft ($2,000). Diamond gas ported 14:1 pistons - hand polished to 13.5:1. Manley Forged aluminum rods with ARP 7/16 bolts. Pistons and rods balanced to the 10th gram. Heads - AFR 227's with 60/40 valve spacing, ported by Ron Shaver Racing Engines. Copper head gaskets.
Valve Train - Comp Cams, Comp Chromoly rockers, Isky Rev-Kit and Stud Girdle, Manley push rods.
Intake - Hilborn 2-7/16" two piece intake with cross linkage. Fresh Hilborn pump and front cover. Lexan scoop with SS mesh air filter. Scoop flips up to prime with one Dzus.
Ignition - Crank Triggered MSD 7AL2 with 3 step box. Jeff Johnston oil pan. Melling pump. Chromed Zoomie exhaust.
Transmission - GM cased 1:76 Shorty Glide with TSR and TCI internals. Converter is an 8" that flash stalls @ 6400 RPM. Billet Specialties shifter with shift solenoid and MSD RPM trigger switch. Also has a Line-lock solenoid that energizes with trans-brake apply to minimize rocking-in-the-beams.
Brakes - State of the art - Aeropace 4 caliper (16 piston) double redundant with two independent master cylinders. Most tracks you won't need the chute.
Body - Aluminum full body with a Chromed and polished stainless wing and 12 ft Chute Metal chute.
Info - 10K Tach, Shift light, Oil pressure gauge and dummy light, Oil temp gauge, Fuel Pressure gauge, EGT, Trans Temp gauge, Cylinder head temp gauge, Battery Voltage. Poloriod play back video camera with fish-eye lens. and most important, Your in LOW GEAR dummy lamp.
