1993 Jeep Wrangler S
For consignment, a 1993 Jeep Wrangler S that's been gone through and is mechanically sound. Not only that, but it's also nice enough to been voted Best Jeep at the 2024 Chester Springs Jeep Nationals.
Exterior
Square headlights highlight the seven slot Jeep grille, which like the rest of the car's body is painted Flame Red. The bright red is contrasted by black features on the rig that includes the bumpers, the wheels, the fender flares, door handles, and side mirrors. The saddle hardtop is trimmed in black and itself provides a sharp contrast to the red, while the 15-inch Tactik Circle 8 wheels wear 31x10.5R15LT tires with a mid 2021 date code and thanks to a Rough Country 2.5" lift, have plenty of travel space. The large windows of the hardtop create a light filled greenhouse and a vertical rear plane completes the square profile of the Jeep. Imperfections include a few dings, and a bubble or two.
Interior
Camel vinyl door panels present a simple design, and the black hardware and the passenger side has a few scrapes. The front bucket seats have a light weave style insert and are tall backed with good lumbar support. The driver's seat is torn across the bottom with peeling vinyl on the sides, while the passenger seat and rear bench are in good condition. A simple steering wheel leads to a basic dash with gauge spread across to the middle. Meanwhile, the tachometer and speedometer are aligned with the driver's sightline. Under the middle gauges, the vent controls and an AM/FM/CD Sony radio. Rising from the floor is the shifter and range selector, rubber booted and surrounded by tan carpet which shows some wear and flows to the back where quite a few stains are present. The cargo area has a rubber mat, but the carpet underneath could benefit from a deep detail.
Drivetrain
Under the hood we find a driver quality 2.5 liter 4 cylinder, fuel injected and rated at 120 horsepower. Harnessing that power is an AX5 5-speed transmission transfers the spin to the rear Dana 35 and through an NP231 Command Trac transfer case to the front Dana 30. New U-joints and a new clutch are noted. Power brakes include discs up front and drums in the rear and include new stainless brake lines and a master cylinder.
Undercarriage
This well loved truck is relatively clean underneath with typical surface rust, clear knuckles, and no invasive rust. The frame is plated on both rails towards the middle of the Jeep. We also note some residual oil on the rear diff and the oil pan. The single exhaust is intact and meets a stock style muffler before exiting. Suspension consists of leaf springs front and back with that Rough Country 2.5" lift.
Drive-Ability
With their short wheelbase, high stance, and overall maneuverability, Wranglers and the like are just plain fun vehicles. We roll this little 4x4 onto the test loop where we find decent acceleration, good tracking, stable, leaning turn-ins, and fantastic visibility with limitless potential with the twist of a few bolts. Meanwhile, all functions such as gauges, lights, horn and more all work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
If you haven't owned or driven a Jeep, well, you really don't know what you're missing. It is a unique experience that will absolutely put a smile on your face and this bright red ride is ready to provide good times, and probably some dash ducks to the next owner. With a full mechanical service and the new parts listed, this one only requires the turn of a key and a yeehaw! from you.
