yep, on hitting the tires to hard, more air would help, if you have double adjustible shocks, try stiffening rebound, and softening compression a little, that is if you use that intersect point.

i ran at madras sat. & sun., put the msd 6a in now my tach reads correct and the shift light works! set it at 6900 rpms, sat. temps in mid 80's with clouds air was 4500', ran 1.484@60 and [email protected]: 1.505@60' and [email protected]; 150.4@60' and [email protected], first round 1.513@60' lifted; round 2 1.485@60' lifted; round 3 1.452@60' ran 6.465 @97 mph ! break out. sunday backed compression off 2 marks (rear shocks) weather was clear and cool ran1.462@60' [email protected]; and 1.486@60' and [email protected]; and 1.460@60' and [email protected]; round 1 red light 1.492@60' and [email protected]. ran both lanes with a small difference between them, i tried 7# air then went to 8# after first run (sat.) then went back to 7# for the rest of the race, it was a race both days so its hard to play with the air and shock settings. next race 2 weeks and i'am going to put a delay box in it and try s/pro. bowler

did you stiffen rebound? if not next time out, you may want to try that also.

Default 2" off IC? no way on that roadster

If you have not yet resolved this cars behavior off the line yet, I recommend raising the IC at least 4" higher than it is now. If you are not guessing where the IC is, then that long wheel base and with a mouse power (I presume) will need a raised IC be able to plant your tires thru the 60' . If you know what your crank height is as well and it is much at all below 11" then you will have a hard time getting your car to hook with repetition at your power level and wheel base. Your car was likely set up for over 1000 HP with 2" off IC, the 50" is short for big power but a mile long with a setting at 2" off the ashephalt. If you raise the bottom bar one hole in the front and raise the front of the upper pipe at the same time this will raise the IC and make the 50" IC seem shorter to the car than it does now. Shortening may not be the best path with that long 108" WB. Work with the height first then the rebound on the shock to get control on the big end.
johnracer has a roadster with a shorter wheel base than yours and seems happy with his wally winning roadster after raising his ride height to raise the crank higher and raised his IC to get his to react better.

Default Page 62, YUP there is Doug

Wow Doug, aren't you something. Best engineered car award! That is great Doug. Johnny has a great eye doesn't he!
Good call John.
John, Doug is tightening the back spread to help his reaction like you did on yours. Doug is not scarred to change his 4 link and knows his car very well. I am confident he will have it right where the wants it to be soon, if he has not already. You both are a pleasure to talk to about chassis set ups because you both actually do them and don't just take opinion poles on changes.

Definately stick with the box. They're not magic and take time to get used to it. Personally, I think the bigblock would be the ticket. I've always run run smallblocks until I got my 522 and I probably won't go back. What a difference!! It just keeps on pullin!!
Congrats again,
Johnny
