For the most part, it's all "Political Posturing" for the liberal base.
In most states, any of the laws they're trying to enact are literally un-enforceable . . The AR-15 and it's many copies are already out there by the millions, as are High Cap magazines. Background checks aren't gonna happen on private transfers of firearms simply because in most states there's no Paper Trail of ownership on firearms . . so how would you prove that a transfer ever happened?
It's all Political bullshit that means little when it gets to enforcement . .
