Utah’s $500K fine and the business side of professional basketball
After practice, we were talking with the guys from our amateur league about coaching ethics and transparency in professional sports. One of our guys mentioned how the Utah Jazz were hit with a massive half-million-dollar fine because Will Hardy kept healthy star players on the bench during the decisive moments of games. The coach cited medical reasons and time constraints, but the association penalized the club anyway.
