Frank, I agree with you. Even with Dart, Brodix, and AFR, I check the heads. AFR heads, assembled, IMO, are by far above the other two. I order the AFR with the parts I want, take em apart and check, and then reassemble with the AFR parts. The 305 cc are about $2150/2200 including the shipping. Don't want to steal the thread...but if you guys had to use a head "out of the box" for money reasons(until later anyway) which casting is generally the best on a standard type bbc?
IMHO, out of the box......CFE/BMF, but they are not cheap.
2nd, AFR's w/ cnc chamber option.
