A vacuum pump helps greatly with crankcase ventilation to help reduce windage. They do add 15-30 hp according to some dyno figures I have read about. Less windage, more horsepower. A crank trigger all around keeps your timing where it should be. With a proper crank trigger set up I have never seen our timing vary at all. A crank trigger will not increase horsepower, but is a reliable piece to ensure your timing stays where it should be.
