You have to decide what your goals are and let that dictate what parts
you use to get there. There is nothing wrong with 23* heads at all, ..
if that is what fills the need. It's silly to call them 20 year old technology.
( The first Americian V8 was built in 1914 and the Chevy small
block as we know it showed up in 1955)
yes 18*, 15* or 13* heads are better in some ways, .. a better flowing head
makes power in a boost application, .. better heads make power
in any application, .. but is it needed to reach your goals?
From my understanding, .. you want to build a blown alky small
block for a boat, .. but this is a week end fun boat and not for
some racing class, .. you want a reliable amount of HP and not
a ton a maintenance?
