pistons

i have some hypereutectic pistons from silvolite made by Keith black and was wondering what a safe rpm limit would be on them im not sure what they will take

and will they take the abuse of some NOS like a 150 shot

I wouldn't attempt NOS on anything but forged pistons....I have heard too many horror stories about KB pistons.....ring gap is also critical on those.

yeah i was reading about the ring gap but my engine builder would be putting the bottom end together looking to get 500 + out of it and wanna rev it to 7000 so everything need to be down to a T i can build em but there still a lot i have to learn about making the big power ya know what i mean
thanks

I wouldnt spray on them pistons unless you have a BIG dust pan with the broom to match and a mop cause it will probally make a mess. I agree that to be safe forged piston are the only way to go. JMHO

Pistons

The company that owns Keith Black and Icon was at the IMIS show at Indy a few weeks ago. I looked at the Icon pistons and their quality and finish were impressive. Icon is no longer marked as a Keith Blck brand, it is a seperate name now.

If you have not seen the New ICON pistons up close, don't judge them, they are a very good piston forging and are most all 2618 material. They are also very attractively priced.
