BBC Intake gasket I.D. help
Hello ..I have a "new to me 582 on Alcohol" i removed the intake and the gaskets have no numbers on them.
This motor has Dart 360 heads- Dart intake.. doesnt look like any exotic work just clean up on ports. Doesnt look like double thick gasket . What intake gasket #'s would i use. In the past have used Cometic gaskets and really liked the quality. But i have no idea what part number to ask for.. i prefer to spend extra on good gaskets.. i hate to do things twice. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks Keith |
If you want to use a conventional gasket, a Fel-pro # 1275 should work fine.
TS1955 |
The fel-pro's do work good and you may not beleave it but so do'es the
5828 - Mr. Gasket Ultra seal Intake Manifold Gaskets I use these on a alky injection engine for the last 7 years |
The fel-pros are ok but the Cometic intake gasket is much better IMO
Ron you've been very lucky with the Mr.Gasket stuff, I learned long ago them gaskets eventually dry rot from alky...I fought that for 3yrs before I switched. |
X3 ---> felpro 1275

GASKETS
THANKS ALL!!..
i ORDERED THE COMETICS.. GASKETS.. I gave them the fel pro 1275 # and they crossed it to there number. Thanks Again Keith |
I would get the 1275-S3's. They are the same gasket, but they have a metal core. One other thing I have noticed with the 1275's, vs the s3's, is the area around the water port, there is more gasket below the water port. Some heads, have very little material where the gasket sits on, and intake water leaks can occur. The s-3's eliminate that.
