Just to give an update. I'm in Chicago right now, flying out in the morning to Durham,NC. Then meet with the doctors on Tuesday morning and see what they want to do. Then on Wednesday meeting up with a few friends from RJ I hope weather permitting. What's with all the snow you guys are getting right now?

Drtmod5 12-26-2010 02:38 PM

Prayers sent your way Mike. Hope all goes well. I just stumbled across this thread, I knew nothing about your condition prior. Wish you all the best.

You are probably in the examination room as I write this. You and the medical staff are being prayed for right now.

Thoughts and prayers...

BEAST477 12-28-2010 10:51 AM

Well guys I'm done at the clinic and good news I guess. No surgery needed. There is definitely a small mass on the carotid artery that will probably require radiation eventually. For now they are putting me on some meds for the headaches. Lets hope they work.

dragonmaster093 12-28-2010 10:55 AM

thats great man and me and mark will be there tomorrow heck me shaving must have brought some good luck lol

dragonmaster093 12-28-2010 10:58 AM

BEAST477 12-28-2010 11:05 AM

I don't know Sam, nothing really special that I can think of. What time you guys heading out in the morning? Talked to Rabbit last night and he is going to let me know this afternoon if he is coming. He said he was going to do everything possible to get here.

BEAST477 06-16-2011 05:45 PM

Well went to University of Michigan hospital on tuesday for a checkup. The tumor is growing faster than they expected. I go in next week to see a Radiation Surgeon and will probably setup up treatment for Nov. or Dec.
Sounds like my next option and best chance to be rid of it.

andamo 06-17-2011 02:27 AM

Why are they waiting so long to begin treatment ? I know early detection is good, but it seems they're dragging their feet on treatment schedule.

DirkaDirka 06-17-2011 08:01 AM

My thoughts and prayers are still with you my brother.

Scooterz 06-17-2011 09:06 AM

Beast: Thanks for the update. Faith says that there is evidence things seen; but the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for. Together, we pray for what is hoped for... complete recovery 100%... by the blood of Jesus... AMEN. Keep us posted on this process please. Keep looking up. Scoot

Harbone 06-17-2011 09:27 AM

Same here Beast lots of prayers coming your way, be strong brother!

fla1976 06-17-2011 01:19 PM

This was my choice to wait. They were OK with that since this is a noncancerous tumor. I've had surgery before to remove 95% of it. They couldn't do radiation then since it was so close to my optic nerve for fear of hampering my vision or causing blindness. Now it's far enough away they can zap it with some kind of lazer form of radiation. Just a real strong dose and a one time deal.

BEAST477 06-17-2011 03:15 PM

Thanks to all my rj brothers for your support and prayers.
Life goes on and I will beat this one way or another.

TheYellaBrick 06-17-2011 08:56 PM

Well we all hope that whoever squeezes the trigger has a steady hand and good eye !!
We're all with ya Beast ! God bless.........

BEAST477 07-18-2011 04:04 PM

Well after going to U of M hospital to meet with the Radiation Oncologist, they tell me the tumor has grown too much and is 1mm too close to the optic nerve to zap it with the lazer.
So now my only other choice is to have radiation treatments five times a week for five and a half weeks.

wazup 07-18-2011 04:26 PM

Our prayers and best wishes go out too you and your wife.
