If you look close at most of the edelbrock intakes like the torker that are still being made from back then the boss or lump where this fill tube went is still in the casting, they just dont drill out the hole anymore. You could buy one of these and have the hole machined out. The machine shop i work at has done this before. for those who are curious the early model SBC's 283-327 had the fill tube in the front of the intake with a breather on it and the pcv was in the back of the block, this is why those old corvette valvecovers you see have no holes in them.

A lot of those old engines had no pcv valves. They had a road draft tube, I can't remember when they started using pcv valves, I think it was in the mid 60s. I suffer from CRS... :P
