Around 60 sells/trades total in the last year and a half. Most of them shipped. All satisfied. I guess you could call it luck, but i would like to think it was because of honesty on both parties.
Your right we're both out of the same amount of money. But if this guy was honest, he would have my Bird I would have the Bucket, for the $350.00. But because of his lies Im out of $350.00 for nothing. Im sorry, but that pisses me off.

Hey guys look at the bold in this statement. IMO i think that he was hoping to get a better car than what he was trying to trade with and it fell thru. Like I siad this is IMO.

Darrell:

We havent heard his side of the story- you are doing all the talking.

And because he hasnt come on here does not make him a bad guy. Maybe you said something that he feels is a lie- but we will never know unless he makes a statement. Perhaps he is "taking the high road on this" as they say.

Bottom line is that if your Bird got there and he felt you misrepresented it, what should he do? Maybe he did just what he should have- split the transit cost.

The fact that he paid half should tell you he's not a thief- else he would have paid none.

You really dont need any advice from this forum- if you feel you were wronged litigate- thats pretty simple.

I just think you really wanted that T - badly and you're disappointed. Thats certainly understandable.

BTW- why does everyone bring up Ebay? They are quite an organization- they force you to use their online pay sevrice for most transactions, dont allow you to leave feedback for buyers and rarely get involved when youve been scammed. If it matters I had over 200 transactions as a Silver Seller, before I termed my account and told them and paypal to shove it.

You are on RJ not Epay- you will NEVER get any help from them- but you will get a form letter from someone named Simon at some point.

BYW- Dirka and Lively are entitled to their opinions- if you dont want to hear them then dont make a post. These guys and others spend their free time trying to help people sort things out- when you give of your time like they do, then you have earned some right to criticize- else say thank you and politely disagree.

WTF Man I tried to close this topic and you guys want to keep it going with your BS. Do you like the drama that much? Its obvious you dont get the point. You have a guy that refuses to come on here and give some answers. I prooved he lied in emails posted. And you want make me look like the bad guy with your stupid comments, "OH YOU JUST WANTED THE T BUCKET AND YOUR JUST DISAPPOINTED", "I SENT A CAR THAT WAS MISREPRSENTED", "SO WHAT JOHN LIED".

Im sure you looked at my profile. If I wanted a F****** T bucket that bad I'd go buy it. I CAN AFFORD IT.

There was no misreprentation on my end at all

A liar is not alright in my book.

ITS THE $350.00 JOHNS LIES COST ME!!!!!!!!

Now if someone will tell me how to close or delete this whole thread, i will gladly do it.

The reason I use ebay and other sites is because in a year of being a member on RJ I've traded one car. I guess the old say of NO FREE RIDES applies, even though I pay on here to

PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO DELETE/CLOSE THIS THREAD BEFORE I GET KICKED OFF HERE ALL TOGETHER

this whole situation is why I hitch the trailer to the truck & check things out myself. I come back with an empty trailer most of the time. only the guy with the t-bucket knows why he backed out of the deal. but him giving two different reasons for sending the car back (blown engine in theT & the trade wasn't as good as he thought it would be) witch one is the truth. john not coming on here and explaining his side of the story leads me to belive he has something to hide.an honest man would not fear telling his side of the story. I would bet he is one of those watching with his status hidden. jmo

The Point

I believe most have missed the point here and this thread has gotten ugly. Every one has a valid point and voiced there opinion. I can personally tell you and most of you will have to agree, that if you do your best to be a straight up no BS person who represents his stuff to the best of his ability and something happens where you feel wronged, it aint about money, it is all about the PRINCIPAL. It is the point of right and wrong and we all have the right to defend ourselves when we feel wronged. And as I have said before, a deal is a deal and your word is your word. Some people need to have a whole lot more character and cash the checks their mouths write.

I also believe as bad as eBay has gotten, there is some value to having a good rating as it shows another part of your business dealings. It certainly does not hurt to consider all possible references

MEMRACING62 11-28-2009 08:12 PM

dragonmaster093 11-29-2009 12:33 AM

well heres my 2 cents A. both paid 350 makes it wash B.if motor was bad then you saved yourself a whole nother can of worms C. if paint had issues and the paint cant be made you get new paint job which would be a big plus on your side.

Why are you still in here yacking away if you are through with it? You asked for opinions, you got them. There were really no insults thrown until YOU said to Dennis:
"BTW If all I had to worry about in this world is your opinion, then I aint got JACK S**t to worry about pal."

I agree with Scorp, you didn't get the tbucket you really, really wanted because it must have been a nicer ride than yours.

Do you really think anyone in here gives a crap who they are talking to (you). Are you the big man on campus somewhere? You aren't here! WOW, we are so proud that you have five kids, two in college and do quite well for your family. That is very impressive, stick your head out your front door and look around.......This world is full of men that do the same thing you are bragging about. What the hell does having kids and having some age on you mean? It certainly doesn't mean you can't be a dumb ass, agian, look out your front door. If you think this is our first rodeo, well sir, you are mistaken. You wanted the bucket and it pisses you off you didn't get your way. I agreed with you in most instances until you had to attack folks (Dennis,Lively) in a thread that YOU started.
Now go find the site that doesn't let this kind of stuff happen,(lmao) and don't ask for opinions if you can't take the ones you don't like.

If you are so well to do, suck up the $350 and be glad that is all you are out! I now believe the man was trying to get out of the deal for the specific reason he stated, your car wasn't as nice as you said.

I know the game, one week ago yesterday, I had a trade offer for my '69 Camaro. He offered to send the '66 ChevyII down as an even trade for my '69 (sight unseen). The pictures made it look BEAUTIFUL! Thank God I had the good sense to go look at it first.......I still have my Camaro and some guys rust bucket isn't sitting im my garage (again). Now I know why he wanted to trade without seeing my car first, his is junk............hmmmmm.
Same circumstances,,,,,gotta make a man wonder.

BTW, we really do rodeo....Do you? Or do you just like the phrase?

Answer: BECAUSE IM RIGHT!!!! AND I HATE TO BE DEGRADED BY PEOPLE WHO BASE THERE OPINIONS ON SPECULATIONS,NOT PROOF. ITS BETTER TO REMAIN SILENT AND THOUGHT OF AS A FOOL ,THEN TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT

(Holloway)You asked for opinions, you got them. There were really no insults thrown until YOU said to Dennis:
"BTW If all I had to worry about in this world is your opinion, then I aint got JACK S**t to worry about pal."

ANSWER: HE INSULTED ME WHEN HE ISOLATED PART OF A SENTENCE THAT I WROTE AND CHANGED THE CONTEXT OF THE STATEMENT.ACUSING ME OF TRYING TO GET OVER.

(Holloway)I agree with Scorp, you didn't get the tbucket you really, really wanted because it must have been a nicer ride than yours.

ANSWER: YOUR ANOTHER ONE THAT JUST DONT GET IT. IF YOU THINK ITS ALLRIGHT TO LIE AND COST PEOPLE THEN I CERTIANLY WOULNT WANT TO BUISNESS WITH YOU. AND ONCE MORE IF THE TBUCKET WAS MY ISSUE,IWOULD JUST GO BUY ONE.

(Holloway)You stated:

ANSWER: ITS CALLED CREDITALS.IT MAY NOY MEAN ANYTHING IN YOUR WORLD,BUT IT DOES IN MINE. NO IM NOT A BIG MAN ON CAMPUS. JUST SOMEONE WHO BELIEVES IN RIGHT AND WRONG WHICH IS MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR SOME

(Holloway)You wanted the bucket and it pisses you off you didn't get your way. I agreed with you in most instances until you had to attack folks (Dennis,Lively) in a thread that YOU started.

ANSWER: AGAIN IF I WANTED A TBUCKET,I WOULD GO BUY ONE. WHAT PISSES ME OFF IS THE $350 THAT I SPENT BASED ON LIES TOLD BY THE OTHER PARTY. IM SORRY YOU DONT GET IT.
AT LEAST SOME SITES HAVE FEEDBACK SCORES.IMO THATS A HELL OF LOT BETTER THAN WHAT GOES ON HERE SOMETIMES.
OPINIONS BASED ON SPECULATIONS ARE NOT FACTS.THERE SIMPLY GUESSES.IF YOUR GOING TO INSULT SOMEONE BY ACUSEING THEM OF TRYING TO GET OVER, DO IT ON FACTS NOT SPECULATION

(Holloway)If you are so well to do, suck up the $350 and be glad that is all you are out! I now believe the man was trying to get out of the deal for the specific reason he stated, your car wasn't as nice as you said.

ANSWER: AS STATED EARLIER I WILL SUCK IT.THAT DOESNT MEAN I HAVE TO LIKE IT.
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT.BUT AGIAN YOUR OPINION IS BASED ON SPECULATION BECAUSE THE OTHER PARTY REFUSES TO COME ON HERE AND EXPLIAN HIS LIES.AND YOU DONT KNOW ME OR MY CAR,SO AGAIN ANOTHER GUESS. NOT FACTS

(Holloway)I know the game, one week ago yesterday, I had a trade offer for my '69 Camaro. He offered to send the '66 ChevyII down as an even trade for my '69 (sight unseen). Same circumstances,,,,,gotta make a man wonder.

ANSWER :THIS IS NOT YOUR CAMARO/CHEVY II TRADE. SOME PEOPLE DONT DO BUSINESS THE WAY YOUR CHEVY II GUY DOES.BUT THEN YOU HAVE SOME THAT DO.YOUR CHEVY II GUY AND THE GUY IM DEALING WITH

(Holloway)BTW, we really do rodeo....Do you? Or do you just like the phrase?

ANSWER: NO I DONT RODEO, AND YES I LIKE THE PHRASE. IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE WITH YOUR SPECULATIONS/GUESSES WHICH ARE INSULTS THERE ANOTHER SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON

MEM I agree. Unless John comes on here to share his side, this thread is no more than a pissing contest, which is a waste of everyones time, and certianly not my intentions when i started it. My problem is not only the $350.00, but now I have to defend myself on top of that with other posters. Im sorry Im not like John and choose to hide from it all.Im willing to call it a loss on the money, but i will not be degraded, when I know Im right.
Thanks for keeping an open mind.

?????? IF YOUR CAR HAULER HAD GOTTEN THERE AND SEEN THIS T BUCKET WAS JUNK!!!AND YOU DECUDED YOU DID NOT WANT IT??? WOULD YOU HAVE PAID THE DRIVER FOR HAULING YOUR CAR BOTH WAYS??? JUST A THOUGHT THAT REALLY NEEDS AN ANSWER :?

NOT CHOOSING SIDES OR BEATING ON YOU -JUST TRYING TO GET ANSWERS
I THINK THE T BUCKET MAN GOT COLD FEET AND BACKED OUT BUT THEN I NEVER SEEN EITHER ONE OF YOUR CARS UP CLOSE 8) 8)
BUT IT IS BETTER TO LOSE $350 THEN TO GET A PIECE OF JUNK IN RETURN[????] RIGHT OR WRONG??

HE DID PAY THE SHIPPING BACK--RIGHT--WITHOUT BEING ASKED***

I THINK BOTH CARS LOOK GREAT IN THE PICS BUT UP CLOSE CAN BE ALOT DIFFERENT

LIVELY

nvmyvettes 11-29-2009 09:40 AM

YES I would probably paid twice that to get my car back. Rather than get screwed.

He may have got cold feet, and backed out? But why not just say that? Then go from there instead of making up a story. If the Tbucket was blown up, like John or Johns son originally stated,(Im gonna tell you up front,we found water in the oil yesterday,no use to lie about it.My brother must of took it out and blew it up without dad knowing) then hell yes Im glad I had a driver that ask to inspect it instead of a drop off pick up driver. And yes Im glad I only lost $350 instead of more or even worse ending up with a car with motor problems.

He paid to have the Tbird delivered to him. That was our deal. The driver ask for it when he got there.I paid to have it returned, because of the story about the blown engine. If in fact the engine was blown, and he just found out the day before, again he could have called or emailed me before my car ever left. If it was blown the whole time and he was'nt expecting an inspection before pick up then he was trying to get over.

But if My driver would of called and said John didnt like your car and felt it was missrepresented, then I would have talk to John and ask him how he felt it was missrepresented. If I felt in anyway that I did missrepresent it then I would of paid shipping both ways, no questioned ask.

But I guess we'll never know the answer to this one.He refuses to answer my emails or phone calls. He refuses to get on here and explain.

Like I said Im willing to file this one under doing business on line the way I choose to do it. And like some said, It may seem stupid to do business that way to them. And yes, your asking for trouble by doing it this way.But seriously Ive never had a problem till now. (knock on wood)

I still would love to know the real deal though.

Peace Darrell

hollowayshotrods 11-29-2009 10:57 AM

Darrell,
I feel your pain man! That is how I felt when the guy in NC with the ChevyII stuck it to me last week. What makes you look bad is the way you respond to folks opinions, just because you don't like them is no reason to be defensive. I agree that the tbucket guy looks bad not responding to this thread, I agree I would be pissed about my $350. I also know that you seem to be trying to impress upon us your good character(which I do not doubt) ie: The family man, the provider, the e-bay man, etc etc. My point is , you don't have to hammer away at folks in here to get them to understand or believe, saying too much is as bad as saying nothing sometimes. There are a bunch of sharp knives in the drawer here, I do believe you to be included.
I find it hard to believe that if he was scamming you he would have paid the $350 to the driver, that is a sticking point to me. I suspect the car got there and he thought your car wasn't as nice as his.......I am not saying it is or isn't, I haven't seen either. Possibly he had a cash buyer in the last minutes. Maybe the motor was blown, who knows........
Anyway, hope it all shakes out for you in the future. I learned my "no see" trade lesson from Keith aka traderguy out of Ashland, Ky. I am old school, but I also know the old school ways are pretty much gone unless your deal is local.
BTW, why do you want to f#%^ me and the horse I rode in on?
Good luck, another btw....You have some damn nice cars in your profile.

Holloway, I dont dislike anyone on here. However I am defensive. ( Guilty)
I respect what you guys do on here !!! But when you draw the wrong conclusion/opinion about me and what really happen, then I get defensive. I feel Im right.

As far as the TBucket guy (John Miller) I think he speaks for his self or NOT.

I base all my opinions about people on character. What you do when no ones looking, or in this case not paying attention!!!!

I was simply trying to present all the facts as they unfolded.

There are sharp people on here, and again I respect what you do. But there have been times in the last year of reading your forum, that I disagreed with your opinions. For some, this is one of those times . Im not sorry if it seems defensive, because it is. I feel in some posts it has to be.

As far as Johns real story, I guess none of us will ever know. Ive told my side and more.

In the future, If you ever have any dealings in Ashland, I live about 20 Miles from there.

I dont wont to, and the horse you rode in on. Just defensive.

Thanks for the compliments on the rides.I love cars/bikes/boats or whatever....

Peace Again Darrell

You know everytime that you open your mouth on here it reminds me more and more of LittleHotRod.

Just checking to see if my signature works

Scooterz 11-30-2009 01:32 PM

myvettes,

This deal is not worth your peace. 350.00 was lost due to a risky choice in my opinion (blind trade). Any deal has the potential to take a dive at any time... like a lottery... it was your time. I am glad you got to keep your car still. If you never find the answer to what really happened, do not loose your peace over it. It is not worth being wronged, then loosing your temper on here at the same time. I have been watching this thread from a distance & I am still curious how the fact the engine being blown came into play right before you guys were ready to close this. Theories are all I am hearing; as the other party is has never showed up. Is he a member here on RJ??? Can we check to see if he has done a read only on this thread/subject?

Anyways, we are pretty good here at looking at BOTH sides of a scam... as many of us have seen a suspect scam complaint be turned around & end up being the posters smoke screen. This is why you are getting some questions & unfavorable answers from the members here. Don't let it get down too much... try to keep your cool. People that FLIP OUT tend to look disparate. This is all my opinion... we have to be open minded or these things do not get worked out sometimes. If you puff your chest, other people will do the same thing. Good luck, Scooter

I should concider myself blessed for that .I know the guys on here mean well. And I know they like what they do.I kind of went from pissed to actually kind of enjoying it myself. winner most beautiful roadster/summit mag.car
.
$18,000.00
I tried to do a trade on this car, but the other car was not the same quality as my car, the value just was not their. I did pay for half of the shipping cost and sent it back. I never said it was a bad car, just not the same show quality as my car, I learned my lesson.

Sorry the car is now for sale ONLY unless its a local trade, or you are willing to absorb all of the cost. SORRY.

This car was built to compete in the california most beautiful roadster contest, featured in summit auto book, and also pictured in street trucking magazine.
I just put in a 355 chevy small block, with a mild cam, lifters, new timing chain & gears, new intake ,650 holley, new headers & Mufflers , Pistons and crank were balanced. Automatic
This car gets attention every where you go, always draws a crowd. This car is More fun than having sex..
Tons of chrome and Brass. The ghost flame paint job can only be seen in the right light , This roadster has a door that opens, If you NEVER had a T Bucket before, get one with a door that opens, even if you don't buy mine, this is good advice. This is my 3rd and best one.
Titled as a 1923t pickup. Top is removable. This is a blast to drive, runs great drives straight
now the bad news it does
need a new windshield, this one has a crack in it,I plan on putting a split (fold down)windshield in it. a passing
The radiator alone cost over 1600 dollars
the headlights alone cost almost 500 dollars. their was a lot of money put into this car.

I am sorry for the way things turned out, I had a problem with my car and I did not want to send it to you like that. But, the T bird was rough, it needed a paint job the interior was rough and faded, the head liner was falling out, the
door hinges sagged and the plastic windows did not line up, the door sills had all the paint worn off, the chrome needed re done or polished, the body was very wavy, again I apologise but My t bucket is like new and needed nothing but a windshield,. thanks john

The guy from the trucking company got a little irritated because I caused him two trips he wasnt planing on taking. But I talk to him yesterday and he's alright now. He still manage to make money without hauling our cars.I look at the pics your bucket about once a day.I've been offered two other Ts. They were nice, but I dont think they were as nice as yours. They had Blowers but no chrome or brass.I think thats what makes yours.
