2000 23ft Eagle “Step Tec” hull built specifically for this project by Rob Chrunyk and Dale Whiteside of
Eagle Power Boats. Engine, rigging and installation was done by myself, I have many years of
mechanical design and turbine experience. Squirt 2 is my second turbine boat and the world’s first
successful turbine white water jet boat. All the world champion unlimited white water boats now follow
my concept of a General Electric T58 turbine in a 23ft Eagle (or similar) hull.
The boat is in excellent running condition with very few hours on the engine (like under 75 in the boat). I
do not race the boat, I use her for fun, show and promotion. The afterburner is a big hit at boat shows
and poker runs especially at night! I often do dry land demonstrations and run-ups at cars shows etc.
There is a foot operated hydraulic disk brake on the power turbine that can be used to slow or even stop
the pump, this combined with the reverse bucket make the boat very easy to handle and dock. You can
arrive at a poker run and slowly motor between the boats with the turbine screaming and calmly turn
the boat within it’s own boat length. A couple blips with the after-burner (when it is safe to do so) and
everybody goes crazy!
Regarding performance: The engine is a General Electric T58-GE-8F. Rated power is 1,370HP with a GE
speed decreaser gear box giving 6,000 RPM output. The pump is a reverse rotation billet bowl built by
Rob Chrunyk and Acceleration Enterprises. The nickel plated steel impeller and inducer were machined
by Precision Jet Drive. I have the power (topping) turned way down so the max speed I have ever had
her is 90mph, which I consider a good safe top speed for my needs. Maximum speed with the power
turned up is unknown. (The fastest turbine Eagles now run over 145 mph!) Minimum speed on plane is
around 35 mph. Once the boat is fully up on plane you can mash the throttle to full power and the boat
accelerates hard without cavitation. The place diverter makes getting on plane very easy. PLEASE SERIES INQUIRIES ONLY
