1983 DELOREAN-ONLY 1,543 MILES-MUSEUM QUALITY-ESSENTIALLY A NEW CAR-BELIEVED TO BE THE LOWEST MILE 1983 DMC-12 IN THE WORLD! I’m sure you’re already familiar with the iconic DeLorean from the movie Back To The Future. These stainless-steel gullwing sports cars were manufactured in Northern Ireland from 1980-1982, and were sold as 1981-1983 models. They are now one of the most highly sought-after collector automobiles worldwide. A recent July 27, 2024 article in the Los Angeles Times about John DeLorean stated “ This exceptional time capsule 1,543 Mile “Collector and Museum Quality” 1983 DeLorean has been in my private collection and stored in a climate-controlled garage for the past 4 ½ years. Believed to be the lowest mile 1983 DeLorean in existence, this example is as good as it gets! It has the preferred 5-speed manual transmission and black interior. Unlike many others on the market, there have been no none-DeLorean modifications made to this DeLorean, with the exception of an easily removable battery shut off on the battery terminal. All necessary maintenance has been performed to ensure reliable drivability. Unlike the earlier 1981 and 1982 models that were plagued with quality control and electrical issues, they were sorted out by the 1983 production. Only minimal servicing was required to bring this example back to as new mechanical condition. That included installation of a new battery, cleaning of the fuel tank, new DeLorean fuel pump and fuel filter assembly, six new fuel injectors, replacement of the original rubber fuel lines with DMC black steel-braided lines fore safety (the perfect originals are included), and the rebuilding by DMC of the Bosch fuel distributor. Also, new spark plugs, distributor, trunk support struts and the lambda sensor were installed. The cooling system was flushed and an oil change performed using a DMC filter. The brake system was flushed, new front & rear brake hoses installed, and the brake calipers rebuilt.
