1955 Chevrolet Bel Air We have owned this Chevy since 1989. She is basically an unrestored original with one repaint in 1990, has been converted to alternator, cassette radio, installed a car alarm, the rear leaf springs were replaced about a year ago and the tires were replaced about 500 miles ago. For an unrestored original, her overall condition is quite remarkable. Interior is all original and is fine for a daily driver. But door panels and carpeting on the driver's side have some issues and there's one small tear in the headliner. We retired in March of this year but prior to that I would drive her to and from work, a 40 mile round-trip, once a week depending on the weather and would drive her anywhere without concern. Have been to several car shows, including Hot August Nights, and she has never once given us any issue. Excellent running condition. But it has been a while since she's had a tune up and mechanical inspection. But as a daily driver, you're good to go. Do a full inspection and light restoration or go all out and do a full restoration.
