I have for sale an Aluminum headed 498 Big Block Chevy engine. A seasoned GM 2-bolt block that has been thermo cleaned, magnafluxed, bored, honed, align checked and zero decked and has ARP fasteners, new Cam Bearings and Frost Plugs. A new Eagle Forged Lightweight Crankshaft w/ 2 piece rear main, New Eagle SIR I-beam 6.385 Rods, New Mahle Forged Pistons, new Moly File Fit Rings, King Rod and Main Bearings, Melling Oil Pump, and Billet Torrington Timing set. The static compression ratio is 10.2:1 which is pump gas. This is a balanced assembly and includes an SFi Flexplate and Balancer.
The camshaft is a Clay Smith Hydraulic Roller with .620/.600 lift and duration at .050" is 233/243 Lobe separation is 107 deg. This camshaft makes awesome power and has a lopey idle that sounds great. The heads are New Speedmaster Aluminum Oval Port castings with 2.25"/1.88" Severe Duty Valves, PBM Erson Springs, Retainers and Locks. I build the heads from bare castings. Elgin Stainless Full Roller Rockers, and 7/16" screw in studs and guideplates. A factory style 5qt car pan is utilized along with Chevrolet Valve Covers, and an Airgap style Intake Manifold. The build also includes new Spark Plugs, Thermostat, Fuel Pump Pushrod and an Aluminum Hi Volume Water Pump.
