ProCharger had their new Big Block serpentine system on display at SEMA 2023 and it was a beauty. The integrated design provides a better look, simplified installation and easy customization. ProCharger introduced a sister product for LS engines at PRI 2022 that we scooped up on the spot. The 370ci LS we subsequently built pushed out 1,063 hp with its smaller D1-X supercharger. We followed that up recently with an F1-X 427ci LS that pushed out 1,250 hp on pump gas with water-meth spray and 1,436 hp on ethanol.
If you are building a Pro-Touring or show car, you really want to have something different to show off. That is particularly true if you plan to enter competitions such as the Ridler Award at Detroit Autorama or SEMA's Battle of the Builders. At the 2022 Ridler for example, four of the Great 8's were Whipple supercharged, two were turbocharged and two were naturally aspirated. This is an opportunity to show the judges something they have not seen.
We are looking to pair this F2 ProCharger system with a hydraulic-roller verison of the long block used for our 555ci, 3,000 hp rated Big BlockChevy engine shown in the photo set and video. Why? Because it is bullet-proof, looks amazing and we have the parts in stock. The key parts are the same for both variants:
- Dart Big M tall deck block with billet steel main caps
- Callies Magnum crank and Ultra rods
- Custom Diamond pistons
- Dart Pro1 heads that we have CNC'd to perfection
The F2's 1,450 hp rating won't even cause this engine to break a sweat! Like our F1-X LS, you will however need a flex fuel set-up to get all the potential power as it's beyond the capability of pump gas.
Let's talk about performance. There are a lot of ways to make this level of horsepower. The pairing of a Big Block with a ProCharger complements the strengths of both. Big Blocks deliver a ton of low-RPM torque while ProChargers deliver progressively more power with increasing RPM. ProChargers provide a linear throttle response which sharply differentiates them from other power adder types.
This will be a custom build. There are plenty of appearance and performance option to choose from starting with appearance. Black and polished are two standard options for the intake manifold and accessory drive. Valve cover and intake manifold choices abound if you'd like something different. We will also be happy to custom engrave for you.
As mentioned above, this engine would use a hydraulic roller cam instead of the mechanical cam in the 3,000 hp race version. It also comes standard with a wet sump but can be upgraded to a Dailey 3-stage dry sump on request. The dry sump would allow a lower placement in the engine compartment along with a variety of other benefits. Flex fuel is another option. E85 works great with boosted engines. It is not universally available and so is therefore not a good choice as a dedicated fuel for Pro-Touring. If some fun at the track is anticipated however, E85 would bring a lot to the party. These are just some customization ideas. The best is to give us a call and talk through all the options.
The standard engine management system is a Holley Terminator X. This can be upgraded to a Terminator X Max to double as a trans controller. It can also be paired with a Holley Digital Dash Pro to either supplement or replace the instrument panel entirely as was done with the 1936 Pontiac in the Ridler - Great 8 video on our website. FuelTech EFI systems are another available option and they bring other features and benefits.

NOTES
- These engines are not pollution compliant and are intended for transportation use only in pre-pollution controlled vehicles.
- All BRE engines are individually dyno tested and tuned. Customers will be supplied with video of their engine's dyno along with the dyno and build sheets.
- Engine shown in photos and video had 540 cubic inch displacement. We have since standardized at 555 cubic inches. The options shown (ex, serpentine system, Dailey's 7-stage dry sump) are not part of this F2 ProCharged engine build.
