Originally built for TC class competition in the Pirelli World Challenge by Ian Lacy racing for the founder of VP racing fuel, Steve Burns. A no expense spared machine, the car was originally raced with v6 power to fit class rules, after limited success in PWC, the car was rebuilt to be raced in NASA and SVRA series events. This car is a proven and extremely capable machine and later achieved class wins at both the '20 and '21 NASA Utah 6 hour endurance events and finished 2nd overall in-class points for the '22 SVRA season.
The car is powered by a gen 3 Coyote crate engine (est 65hrs), controlled by a Ford Performance controls pack, with ABS integration that was performed by KOHR Motorsports. The engine has an oversized Capaldi racing radiator/cooling package as well as a Setrab oil cooler. A Canton Racing Accusump oil accumulator, and Motion Race Works catch can handle oil control duties. Power is coupled to a Tremec t-56 magnum xl transmission with close ratio gearing (10hrs of use since rebuild) via a Quarter Master optimum 8 leg racing clutch. A 1 piece aluminum driveshaft sends power to a Cortex Racing cambered 8.8 rear axle, that features a new Ford racing Torsen differential with 4.10 gear ratio. A trunk mounted Setrab differential cooler with Tilton pump provides additional cooling capability, as well as Canton Racing breather/catch can. New Motorcraft battery installed last fall.
The Ian Lacy Racing prepared chassis features a Watson Racing boss 302s roll cage and wiring harness, Optic armor windshield, rear and 1/4 windows, Penske double adjustable shocks with remote reservoirs, full Cortex rear suspension package with watts link, Brembo club race front brake package cooled by boss 302s brake ducts, Ford racing adjustable front sway bar with boss 302s adjustable links, Cortex adjustable rear sway bar (currently not installed), a carbon fiber roof, and a very nice 3pc custom carbon fiber dash. A Watson Racing center stack switch panel, featuring aircraft grade toggle switches for ignition, fuel pump, headlights, wipers, differential cooler, defrost fan, auxiliary lights and reverse lockout as well as a Motorola racing radio. Instrumentation is handled by a Motec C125 programmable race display/datalogger, along with hard wired Garmin catalyst (included) as well as a center stack mounted analog fuel gauge. A programmable XIneering rev match system is also installed. Safety equipment includes an FIA approved Lifeline zero 360 fire suppression system, a Sabelt racing seat with schroth 6 point racing harness, a window net and restraint net which are all in date (New in '24). The car is equipped with a Fuel Safe fuel cell, which recently had it's bladder replaced (good until May '30) and new Bosch fuel pump installed, along with new ptfe fuel supply line from cell to fuel rail. The car also features 18x11 Forgeline racing wheels and boss 302s adjustable front splitter and full length jacking rails.
