Vintage R.C. Industries Aluminum Bellhousing w/ Matching Lower Cover – Chevy SB/BB – NHRA-APP New London, OH – No Cracks/Welds
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, survivor-grade piece of vintage drag racing history: an original R.C. Industries cast aluminum safety bellhousing complete with its matching lower inspection/rock shield cover.
This is the highly desirable early production unit from the New London, Ohio era, featuring the crisp NHRA-APP (Approved) logo stamped directly into the casting.
Condition Details:
No Cracks & No Welds: The main housing and the lower cover are completely structurally sound. No hairline cracks, no stress fractures, and zero ugly repair welds.
Unaltered Fins: Unlike most units that were hacked up to clear tight transmission tunnels, the exterior cooling fins on this unit are intact and un-ground.
Factory Patina: Never harsh media-blasted or painted. It features the perfect, aged sand-cast aluminum look that restorers actively hunt for.
Fitment: Standard Chevrolet small-block / big-block engine pattern. Drilled for classic GM 4-speed manual transmissions (Muncie, BorgWarner T-10, etc.).
Clutch Forks: Included
Finding one of these complete with the original, un-cracked matching lower cover is nearly impossible today. Perfect for a period-correct 1960s/1970s Gasser build, nostalgia front-engine dragster, or a high-end vintage parts collection.
Please note: This is a vintage collectible safety part sold as-is for restoration/display purposes. It does not carry modern SFI certification for current NHRA competition.
