Description:
This is a fully rebuilt and custom-fabricated Yamaha XS850 resto-mod, built with a focus on performance, mechanical integrity, and vintage race-inspired design.
The motorcycle was completely disassembled and rebuilt from the ground up. The original 1976 XS 750 engine has been replaced with a strong-running XS850 engine from a 1981 donor, offering improved performance while maintaining the character of Yamaha’s classic triple platform.
The design emphasizes a clean, aggressive café racer silhouette, anchored by a one-piece hand-fabricated aluminum tail section and a cohesive Royal Blue finish with period-inspired striping. This is not a typical cosmetic build—function and rideability were the priorities throughout.
Key Features:
• XS850 engine (1981 donor) – strong runner
• Complete frame-off rebuild
• One-piece hand-fabricated aluminum tail section
• Original fuel tank refinished to match (Royal Blue with accents)
• Frame and components fully stripped and powder coated
• Rebuilt carburetors (new gaskets, needle & seats)
• New bearings (steering head, swingarm)
• New dual rear gas shocks
• All new wiring and LED lighting
• New battery, controls, cables, grips, and hardware throughout
• Clean, simplified layout with attention to detail
Condition & Notes:
This is a one-off motorcycle built with a focus on doing things correctly rather than quickly. The bike runs strong and presents extremely well. Every major system has been addressed during the build.
As with any custom motorcycle, there may be minor details a new owner may choose to personalize further, but the hard work—the fabrication, mechanical refresh, and overall execution—is complete.
Title:
Clean Tennessee title in hand.
Closing Statement:
This build stands apart from typical café racers. It retains the raw character of a vintage Yamaha while delivering a tighter, more refined riding experience. A unique opportunity to own a hand-built machine that reflects both craftsmanship and performance.
