1968 PLYMOUTH GTX 4Chrysler introduced major changes in the design of the 1968 model Plymouth B-bodies and the GTX was given a completely new look. A new hourglass body replaced the previous rectilinear design. The high-performance commando 440 was standard in the GTX as was the Torque-Flite automatic transmission. The GTX used the upgraded Sport Satellite trim package and the 440 motors that were found only on the GTX platforms. All featured dual horizontal 'racing stripes' on the lower rocker panel sides ending with a GTX emblem ahead of the rear wheel openings made this model known that this is a GTX. The GTX was positioned to be an upscale model of the Road runner by adding luxury to performance. All the sheet metal and floorboards are still original to this car. The inside is all new Black upholstery, The black and Wooden interior trim coordinate so well. The exterior has a 8-year-old Frost Blue Poly paint color that looks good from 10 feet. I would paint the car but I rather not and let the new owner select what color that works for them. In addition, this GTX sounds great and runs like it was designed to rumble down the road, it runs great, and it looks great what isn't there to love about this '68 GTX. 1968 Plymouth GTX Vin: RS23L8EXXXX decode below: R = Belvedere S = GTX 23 = 2 Door Hardtop L = 440 Hi Proformance Engine 8 = 1968 E = Los Angeles, CA 126727 = Production of all Plymouth models.
